What is
Scottish Country Dancing?
Scottish Country Dancing, which became popular in the 18th
century, is a social form of dancing that first occurred in
homes, barns and halls all over Scotland. Additional

Who is eligible to become a member of the
Bellingham Scottish Country Dancing club?
Our club is open to everyone, regardless of age and ability. We
have plenty of first-time Scottish Country Dancers join our club
every year and offer a relaxed and welcome environment. Rest
assured that you will never feel uncomfortable or out of place
if you are new to Scottish Country Dancing and joining us for
the first time. Information on becoming a member of BSCD can be

page.
How much does it cost to be a member of the
club?
Membership is based on the dance year (September – May). You can
join the club for half of the dance year for $70, or the whole
year for $130 ($120 if you pay by the end of September).
If you prefer, you can simply come and enjoy the classes and
events, and pay as you go, without becoming a member of BSCD.

Can’t afford our classes or events? That’s ok! We offer a
Memorial Scholarship Fund for those who cannot, for whatever
reason, afford our events or classes. Information about the
Memorial Scholarship Fund is available

CLASSES
How do
I register for classes?
There is
no need to register for classes in advance. All you need to do is show
up and have a great time!
What
should I wear to club classes?
Please come to class wearing soft soled shoes
without heels, and clothing that is easy to move around in and that you
are comfortable in.
Can I
bring a friend with me to classes and events?
Absolutely! The more the merrier.

The
Royal Scottish Country Dance Society sells dance instruction booklets
